BAD TIMES
______________________________

Bad Times is the collected short crime fiction of Julie Morrigan and brings together 33 stories in all from three previous publications: Gone Bad; Show No Mercy; and Wired.
Gone Bad — These stories have the distinctive flavour of north east England and combine flash fiction pieces with longer reads. Within the pages you can meet a murderous little boy, a psychotic Scouse backing singer, and a wannabe crime fiction writer with a penchant for hands-on research. Add to that a dishonest lottery winner, predatory girlfriend, long-suffering private detective and would-be rapist and you’re starting to get the lie of the land.
Show no Mercy — A collection of dark, adult tales exploring Britain’s seedy underbelly. Thieves, whores, murderers, gangsters and thugs all lurk within the pages, their dirty deeds on display, their grubby secrets revealed. There’s even a pair of Christmas-themed tales, proving that it is always the season to be bad. Come and peek under Britannia’s skirt and see what it is she tries to hide from the world: it’s not all royal weddings and afternoon tea, there are dark, dangerous, dirty places whose denizens show no mercy to those who cross their paths.
Wired — Comprises two short stories (Barbed Wire and Razor Wire, each over 5,000 words long) and includes scenes of violence, brutality and human frailty.

Praise for Bad Times
'Morrigan’s writing is like Charlie Watts’ drumming: no need to flail around and toss sticks
through the air, when you can lay down such a tight, badass and irresistible groove.'
